— The page footer

The
element holds closing information: legal notices, contact links, copyright. Like
, it can appear at page level or inside an
or
.

When to use it

You want to mark your site footer (copyright, legal links) or the conclusion of an article (author bio, related links).

What you gain

Accessibility: at page level,
creates a contentinfo landmark. Screen readers let users navigate directly to this area. Inside an
or
, it receives the sectionfooter role: the closing information is attached to the right context.

Code example

© 2026 Bariafuri. All rights reserved.

Legal

Privacy
